When you’re in the market for a new domain name you will of course start a search using one of the many domain registrars websites out there, where once you have found you ideal domain name you can register it straight away. If this is the tact you take then there is no problem, but if you decide once you have found the domain name you want and decide that maybe you would like to mull it over for a while you could be in danger of losing it completely.
When your sat putting your searches in these are being logged and if you leave it too long the domain will be snapped up by a domain squatter, which in fact are doing nothing wrong, they are just using their inside knowledge made from your searches to make an educated purchase. So when you finally decide that’s the domain for you and come back to purchase it, instead of facing a nominal charge, you could be facing hundreds of pounds (depending on how desirable the domain name is) to secure the domain. So the moral of the story is, it’s a real pain to find a good domain these days so even if you not 100% sure if the domain you’ve found is the right one for you, it’s worth spending that nominal amount on it just in case, and even if you find a better domain you can always redirect to the better domain or just leave it to drop back into circulation.
